Rubber Division Provides Learning Through Webinars, Courses

The ACS Rubber Division is scheduling a series of courses and webinars, including old favorites in addition to new courses as well. Topics include, “RPA Testing of Rubber Processability and Dynamic Properties,” “Rubber Explained” and “Carbon Blacks Manufacturing, Properties & Applications in Rubber Compounds.”

All courses are available for remote viewing from any tablet, laptop or computer. The courses and webinars are free for student members, and the webinars are free for members.

‘Zochem North’ Marks 10 Years of Near Perfection

Zochem L.L.C.’s Brampton Plant was recently recognized for 10 consecutive years of producing products that exceeded expectations more than 99 percent of the time.

Zochem attributes this achievement to a combination of process experience along with quality engineering tools.

“It takes both teamwork and competency to go even one year with a strong run of in-spec production and quality,” Zochem General Manager Mo Sharma said in a statement. “To achieve a run as long as we have maintained at Zochem here in Brampton, it required the entire team from sales and customer service to production, maintenance, quality and the administration staff to being dedicated to making sure that the customer gets the products, packaging and delivery they expect.”

Nouryon Completes CMC Acquisition

Nouryon completed its acquisition of the carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) business of J.M. Huber Corporation.

This acquisition will significantly broaden Nouryon’s portfolio of products. CMC provides a sustainable, bio-based water-soluble polymer used as a thickener, binder, stabilizer and film former.
