BrightSun antimony oxide is used as a flame retardant in many items used daily, from electrical equipment and textiles to leather and coatings. By itself, antimony oxide has no flame retardant properties. But when it is combined with halogens like bromine and chlorine, it becomes a highly effective flame retardant system.
