H.M. Royal, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sales Territory Manager in our Western Region to sell, support and promote raw materials to Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomer compounders. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated success in developing and closing sales of specialty and commodity raw material solutions to company owners, presidents, technical and production decision makers. The position is based in Southern California and territory includes Orange County, Inland Empire, San Diego, Arizona and Southern Nevada.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand position at existing accounts, as well as locate and develop new customers to meet aggressive growth targets
  • Identify new products and applications
  • Consult and provide information about the company’s products and services and technical/formulation support
  • Ensure timely contact reports on all customer meetings involving substantial or new information
  • Effectively manage all customer service and client inquiries.

Job requirements / Candidate profile

  • Education: BA or BS degree, preferably in Chemistry, or other technical area
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic
  • Above average interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Minimum of 5 plus years outside sales experience in raw materials for compounding industries
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and approximately 30% overnight travel for prospecting, developing and maintaining sales to existing and new accounts in southern California, Nevada, Arizona and surrounding areas.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred

We have an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in our Buena Park, CA, office. 

Job Duties

  • Responsible for placing, revising and managing all orders with suppliers from initiation through delivery.
  • Responsible for purchasing inventory for warehouse, following up with shipments, and ensuring correct cost of material and freight.
  • Ensures all necessary documentation is received when establishing new supplier contracts and for all new products. Directly responsible for ensuring all product import regulations and certifications are complete
  • Responsibility for costing of products – reviews price changes announced by suppliers, adjust costing, and send out necessary notifications.
  • Maintains files and generates reports for management, sales personnel, other internal employees, and suppliers as required
  • Primary contact point for customers and internal personnel for problem resolution, including identifying problems and quickly resolving issues preventing product delivery

Job requirements

  • 5 plus years’  industrial purchasing experience – preferably in chemical industry
  • Detail-oriented person with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments; flexible in dealing with changing work environment with a positive attitude and a sense of urgency. Ability to multi-task.
  • Computer literate; with excellent working knowledge of Word and Excel software. Outlook and ChemPax software experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including import/export regulations, shipping/storage of HAZMAT materials, fire regulations, and others as required.
